Process and workshop
A Zen Artefatos piece passes through the hands of one person, from start to finish. Each piece asks for different work, but the path is always the same.
Choosing the wood
It all begins with the wood. Each board is studied before any cut: grain, colour, knots, marks that may become part of the design. The woods we use are in the wood library, with their origin and characteristics.
Shape
The piece is designed from what the wood offers. Cutting and shaping are done by hand, in the workshop, without repeating moulds: that is why two pieces from the same line are never the same.
Finish
Sand, adjust, sand again. The finish is the slowest part and the one you feel in your hands. Each piece gets the finish that suits its use, and its care instructions are on its page.
Run number and QR code
Once ready, the piece gets its number within the line’s run (#t.nn) and a QR code engraved in the
wood. The code opens the piece’s page, with its details, its woods and, later, the stories of
whoever owns it. It is made to work forever.
From hand to hand
A sale ends in a direct conversation. The piece goes out with a card that lets its new owner claim it and, if they wish, tell its story.
